Patmos is a small Greek island in the Aegean Sea where the apostle John received the prophetic visions recorded in the book of Revelation. John was exiled to this rocky island around 95 AD during the persecution under Roman Emperor Domitian. It was here that Christ appeared to John in glory and revealed the apocalyptic prophecies concerning the end times and the ultimate victory of God's kingdom.
